The Visionary
An entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the education industry, Dirk served as a regional director for a leading university and held numerous advisory and board appointments. Dirk’s extensive experience led him to establish a successful education consultancy company and co-found Speechsquare.
Ben Roberts
The Nerd
Ben is an experienced tech entrepreneur and AI developer who is dedicated to creating technological solutions that enhance social mobility. He has previously founded and successfully exited a UK-based startup. Additionally, he has built and advised on tech projects across Southeast Asia and China. Speechsquare.
Yunqian Zhou
The Analyst
Through creating data-driven solutions to improve the business and financial outcomes of numerous multinational corporations, Yunqian possesses extensive experience in data analytics, auditing, and financial reporting. Yunqian is also a founder of Melyngo, the project that led to Speechsquare.
Ben & Yun - The beginning of Speechsquare!
Our Story
Our AI has been in development since 2017, initially as part of Melyngo, a language learning app founded by Yun and Ben that focused on improving speech. Melyngo provided personalized feedback on oral skills, which was quite revolutionary at the time when considering major language learning platforms could only provide binary feedback!
As the speech analysis industry began to grow, Dirk understood its application could expand beyond the current focus of language learning and worked with Ben and Yunqian to develop Speechsquare.
